Who are we?
We are a group of instructors that came together through a training alliance, united by a belief in fair play and having fun. As a peaceful alliance, we focus on learning more about the game, building up our cities, solving mysteries, winning tournaments, and exploring all the different aspects of Illyriad. We ask our members to actively participate in alliance chat (AC). Membership is open to all races although Orcs must promise to bathe once a week. We have established a base in Chulbran and would like all members to have at least some of their cities in the area for our mutual protection and cohesion. We expect everyone to be respectful of others and to follow leadership guidance. We are not heavy handed. We simply want members who are involved and engaged. Respect is earned by behavior. The more you give, the more you receive. Be helpful to everyone, both in and outside of the alliance whenever it is possible. Please don’t troll global chat (GC), and be aware that your behavior reflects on all of us.
Settling, Exodus, and Tenaril Policy
The game does not allow Exodus or Tenaril to land within 10 square of non-alliance/confed towns. If you wish to move under 10sq away, CLAN asks that you please contact the member whose town is nearby and ask for permission. Also, send a copy of your message to CLAN leadership. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld but the town owner may already have plans for that spot. While settlers can land under 10sq, we require that the same permission be granted by the owner(s) of any town(s) under 10sq from your desired location. You must receive permission before settling there. No requests for permission to settle within 6sq will be entertained except under extreme circumstances. We wish to avoid conflict. Getting permission beforehand will allow us to remain at peace.
Occupation and Sovereignty Policy
CLAN lays claim to the first 5 squares in any direction, including the diagonals, from a member’s city. It is their sole and exclusive property, including the right to claim sovereignty on any square in the area. No occupying armies are permitted within 5 squares. Violators may be subject to removal by military action against said troops without prior warning.
Harvesting Policy
CLAN lays claim to any basic and rare resources occurring on a square within the first 5 squares in any direction, including the diagonals, from a member city. They are the sole and exclusive property of our member. This includes NPC’s as well. All resources that are within our sovereignty are also not allowed to be harvested. If you wish to harvest a resource within this area, please contact the cities owner to ask permission before you send the harvester. Don’t be surprised if you get bumped, or worse, if you don’t ask first.
Military Policy
Military units are not allowed to be used against other active players without the other players permission (PvP situation) and permission from CLAN leadership. Military units can be used against inactive players who have no alliance affiliation. It is important for any player doing this to ensure that the person they are attacking is inactive. Do this by sending the player a message asking them to respond if they are active, then wait a minimum of five days.
The same rules apply to thieves, saboteurs, assassins, scouts, and spies. They should not be used against cities of players that are known to be active without permission from the other player and, at the very least, notification of the leadership. Diplomatic units can freely be used against inactive players who have no alliance affiliation. It is important for any player doing this to ensure the other player is inactive.
Harmful magic (Blights) should not be used against active players except with permission from the other player or with the permission of leadership. It is also polite to ask before casting helpful magic (geomancy spells).
Diplomacy Policy
We wish to have good relations with as many alliances as possible and will attempt to the best of our ability to settle all disputes peacefully. We wish to have open communication with everyone. We are open to discussing NAPS and Confeds. We consider confeds to be serious commitments to mutual safety and will only enter into them very selectively. We will accept temporary confeds when necessary for the placement of cities.
