Durin the Deathless is remembered as the First King of the Dwarves and the ancestor of all who delve the deep stone. Awakening alone in the frozen north, Durin wandered the world until he found a valley of still water and echoing rock. Durin’s reign marked the beginning of Dwarven mastery over stone, metal, and hidden wealth. His people learned the secrets of the earth—how to raise unbreakable walls, shape living rock, and draw rare metals from the deepest veins. Even after his passing, the Dwarves believed Durin never truly left them. When a king arose who bore his spirit and strength, they said simply: “Durin has returned.”
Through war, exile, and long decline, Durin’s name remained a rallying cry among the Dwarves. To follow Durin’s path is to value endurance over haste, memory over glory, and survival over conquest. In times of rebuilding, his legacy guides those who seek to reclaim lost halls and restore ancient power beneath the mountains.
