Astarcánë, Lord of Lóminost
Astarcánë, whose name means “Vision out of Dust” in the tongue of the Eldar, or dustyoracle in the vulgar tongue, is the quiet and watchful lord of Lóminost, a forest-bound fortress that crowns a mist-laced peak on the western border of Lan Larosh. From this lonely height, the keep gazes westward over the Great Confluence—the meeting of three mighty rivers that braid through the moss-hung canopy of the surrounding temperate rainforest. The forest is vast, damp, and dark, filled with murmurs that never resolve into words.
His court is secretive, composed of reclusive scholars, dream-scribes, and pale couriers who speak rarely and leave no trace.
Astarcánë is often glimpsed on the outer battlements beneath moon-drenched firs, wrapped in his signature robes of ash-grey and bronze-threaded wool. His speech is gentle, his presence disquieting in its calm. Visitors to Lóminost seldom speak of battle or politics afterward; instead, they muse in riddles, or take up obscure studies, or vanish entirely from the known courts of Illyriad.
Lóminost endures, weathering each age like a stone swallowed in bark and vine. And Astarcánë watches from its heights, as rivers converge far below, bearing the secrets of a land that never wholly wakes.
