What are Discoveries? 6 commendable Discoveries, to be obtained in every city
Two are got through Tavern Quests. (See Satellite Quests of World Map icon.)
You'll need to have some research done to be able to unlock quests missions, some with delivery of goods (caravans), some with (10 or more) basic or advanced scouts (Diplomacy research needed).
Rewards are randomly given for successful missions, so it's a bit tedious to send, resend till you're awarded the Discoveries:
• Block and Tackle (Trade Discovery) which increases loading speed of harvesting resources by 20%
• Inquisitive Populace (Diplomacy Discovery) which increases the radius of visibility of your city +2
Two are got from research in Crafting:
• a racial Crafting Discovery (Elven Sword, for Elves, Orcish Sword, for Orcs, Dwarven Battle Axe, for Dwarves, Traditonal Sword, for Humans) which you get as soon as you build a Swordsmith
• a racial Crafting Discovery (Elven Thoroughbred, for Elves, War Wolf, for Orcs, Dwarven Battle Mule, for Dwarves, Battlebred, for Humans) which you get as soon as you've researched 20 new crafting abilities
Two City Discoveries are got from diplomacy missions:
• Gnome Brew, which lowers cost of beer production, got by sending lots of spies to to a specific location (cf. hereunder)
• Allembine Research, which increases your Research points, apart from the necessary recruiting of Allembine Scribes, who give a stong bonus in diplomacy defense.
Allembine is got though sending spies missions to 5 + 20 spots scattered on the map. (cf. hereunder)
There's a Google Spreadsheet which you can use in any browser, where you've a tab opened on the city you wish to send from, following this link:
