On Matters Concerning Trade, Diplomacy, and War
Of Trade
Let it be known to all who travel through the lands of Kal Tirikan and Fremorn, that I, Eryndir, am open to fair dealings in trade. From the wilds I gather the spoils of the hunt: anatomies of scuttlers, wolves, bears, and the scaled chargers that roam these lands. My hunters fear no beast, and so you may find in my stores the remains of creatures both great and unknown, for there is little in these wilds that can deter them. In addition, expeditions are often dispatched from my halls to seek out rare minerals from the deep places of the earth and herbs of healing and power, found only in hidden glades. Should you wish to trade in these goods, send forth a message, and terms may be set.
Of Diplomacy
In matters of state and council, let there be no misunderstanding. I hold peace as a treasure greater than gold, yet peace must be built on a foundation of honor and respect. Those who come in good faith shall find me a willing ally and a faithful friend. But know this: if treachery or ill-will is brought to my door, I shall suffer it not. Let disputes be settled by words first, for steel, once drawn, brings only sorrow.
Of War
Though I desire no quarrel, I will not be found wanting in the defense of my people and my lands. Should any seek to do harm or trespass upon what is mine, I shall answer with the full measure of my strength. Moreover, I pledge this: to those with whom I am bound by alliance, in their hour of need, my sword shall stand beside theirs, as an unyielding shield against our foes. Let those who would seek conflict weigh well the cost, for it shall be heavy indeed.
