An exceptionally long-lived people, we High Elves make our homes in the forests and trees across the continent. As a High Elf I am graceful, artistic, magical and a master of the bow. Though I am wise, I am often seen as arrogant to the point of rudeness to other races. I assure you that I am not arrogant, and I love each and every race here! I appear very similar to a fairy, some even theorize that my race is a descendant of the Fae. I am youthful and possess great beauty. I am somewhat small in stature standing about 4’ 10”. It is just my delicate body that gives you the illusion that I am taller than I actually am. I possess the cutest little pointy ears you will ever see, and the most expressive jade-colored eyes. I wear my beauty like the brilliance of the sun and clad myself in garments of delicate and transparent beauty. Like all Elves, High Elves are seen as minor nature and fertility gods, therefore if you choose to worship me please do so in trees, mountains, and waterfalls. It is also advisable to bring gifts of jade as to please my inner goddess.
I one day hope to meet one of my fairy ancestors. In doing so I hope to be granted wings as my ancestors have. If you are willing to help with this dream please feel free to make my acquaintance and become my friend. Beware, as stated earlier, I am very skilled with a bow. Please do not pretend to be my friend in hopes that I will give you the secrets of my forest. I will protect it with all my might (magic and bows!). If you wish to come to visit my forest, please give me a warning. I will ensure a clear path for you and I will make sure to lead you to the glimmering waterfall right behind my tree. It is a thing of beauty.
Just a reminder for those who may have forgotten: If you choose to worship me please do so in trees, mountains, and waterfalls. I would implore you to bring gifts of jade so as to please me.

Mountains
Favor ranged units and nimble spearmen, and penalize cavalry heavily. Attacking swordsmen are also hampered by the passes, gulleys, and canyons that make frontal assaults more difficult.
Hills
Also, benefits ranged units, and penalize cavalry to a lesser extent. Swordsmen are largely unaffected by hilly terrain.
Forests
Penalise ranged units and cavalry due to the foliage, but swordsmen and spearmen love all the opportunities for cover and ambush.
Plains
Provide the opportunity for the cavalry to shine - their ability to maneuver makes them the masters of open flat space. Lightly armored spearmen dislike the open terrain of plains, where they are easier targets for cavalry and archers.

Harvesting, Occupation, Sovereignty:
I follow the 5-square rule and only harvest mine or harvest within another person's 5-square if I have received permission. However, if I send my people to a location and someone else sends settlers, exodus a city, or 'ports a city to within 5 squares of where I am harvesting, I consider that since I was there first, I should be allowed to finish.
Please do NOT settle within 10 squares of one of my cities without asking first. And most DEFINITELY do not settle within 5-squares. I will consider any settling within 5 squares of one of my cities to be an act of aggression and I will follow SkB protocol to have that settlement removed, moved, or destroyed. Asking permission is only polite, and usually, the answer will be "yes".
Any spot that I've claimed sovereignty on is MINE. If you try to harvest there, your people will be removed. The same goes if I've already got an army camped on a spot. Don't complain if you go there anyway and get chopped up.
Cautionary Advice: I don't mind if someone harvests skins within my 10-square radius as long as the skins are "roadkill" or kill they made. If it was MY kill, expect to be bumped. If you wish to harvest rare herbs within the 10 squares, I won't mind unless you get greedy, or over-harvest the plots to the point that they disappear. If this is happening, your herbalists WILL be bumped. DO NOT EVER HARVEST ON MINE OR ANYTHING WITHIN A 5-SQUARE RADIUS OF ONE OF MY CITIES OR ANY SPOT I'VE SOV'D WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. YOUR PEOPLE WILL BE REMOVED. I DO NOT GUARANTEE THEY WILL BE REMOVED ALIVE. While I hope to be non-aggressive, my bodyguard isn't. Your next incarnation could be as the entree at an Orc bbq. I have some hungry friends.
