Finrod
Long ago he walked the plains of Illyriad as a man. He claimed the name of an Elf who was known as a friend of men. He led his people from the Middle Kingdoms to Perrigor, leaving behind an alliance that had fallen into darkness. There he joined those who lived at the Edge of the Earth, though the rim was nowhere in sight. There his people prospered in the peace that surrounded them, and they grew strong.
But shadows grew long, and those stronger than the Edge of the Earth appeared. Treachery grew from lies, and betrayal twisted the truth. With siege after siege, the cities of the Edge began to fall. Assuming the position of diplomat after the royal family went underground, He leaned on his Lord and summoned all of his diplomatic acumen. After weeks of reaching out to the global community for mediation of a peaceful solution, enemies of Edge laid down their swords, one by one. In the end there was peace; but the Guardian of Edge was destroyed. He had fought admirably, but wave after wave of his enemies overwhelmed him.
Crushed by his failure to save their Guardian, the peacemaker withdrew from the global community. With his remaining determination, he tried to install a new leadership in Edge before he would once again begin a migration. Finally the hour came for his departure, and with time the cities ruled in his name fell into ruin. Rumors say however, that in some of these cities his soldiers continue to defend his rule.
Ages have come and gone, and the face of Illyriad has changed. Now he rises again. Hoping to correct his past mistakes, he appears as an elf with the name of a man. He continues in his hope to unite the races, and he hopes to lead those disgraced by the past back to honor.
Finrod returns.
