Hello and good day to you. I figure this is as good of a place as any for you to get to know me and you never know, I might just throw a few helpful opinions in here for you. I am Hexmark, to
say I am old might be deceiving. I feel like I am older than dirt... I do not mean good wet dirt fresh from the garden but more like that leftover dust that poofs up when you enter an old tomb. That being said, I am a jack of many trades as most humans are
but consider myself a minor dabbler of the mystic arts.
Most people on here are generally decent folk and will go out of thier way to help newer people. If you happen to need help or can not figure something out then ask Global Chat or possibly look it up in the forums. That being said,
there are a lot of little things that are hard to find such as range on a spell or even what can be a target... or even if it can be cast on someone that is a friend or foe. These sort of things I might try to help you with if it's not past nap-thirty but
there are a few things I would recommend to a new player to make their life easier.
First up, build a few cottages and cotters when you get the chance. These will give you something to do early on and you can demolishion them when you need space. You can gather minerals, herbs, hides and even sky splinters with cotters
and either use them or sell them for coin. One thing almost everyone needs early on is coin.
Next up I would get some scouts. Again, this gives you something you can do early on. You can look at wandering mobs and NPC factions to see exactly what they are before you decide to go poking into things with real troops.
A tavern is another building a lot of people leave alone but honestly early on it can be a good idea to do the quests offered there. It takes caravans and a bit of resources and/or scouts ot advanced scouts plus it can give you some
odds and ends resources you can use. What is more is if you level it up a bit you can get quests that can unlock discoveries that will have a long lasting effect
I touched on caravans, it is important to both build caravans and to improve them. There is a lot of uses that range from buying and selling at hubs all the way to harvesting basic materials that spawn there. Granted, the basic resources
are just that... wood, iron, stone, clay and food... but as I said before, it gives you something to do early on. Something you will hear often is the Illyriad is not a race.
