As the faint tint of morning infuses the swirling mists of Windlost with a faint mauve pink tinge, in front of a once proud but now ramshackled stone
building something stirs before us. The ever-increasing turbulence of the fog-filled air taunts our eyes and ears. The place has a feeling of staleness and smells of the past in a way that depresses the soul. The stone wall in front of us and the now agitated
mist begin to glow with an ever-increasing brightness. We feel we are witnesses of a portentous event. The air is now gushing past our ears reaching screeching pitch and the light from the fireplace causes us to squint to almost blindness. With eyes half closed,
we witness, rising from the ashes, a Phoenix. Its gilded wings and burning blue eyes causing fear in its enemies and excitement in its believers. In one of its taloned feet, it bears a shield, emblazoned in gleaming emeralds, the letters “SM” and in the other,
a sword with four flaming blades. On each blade, the name of one of the four races coexisting in Windlost, can be read.
In a voice unheard until this time upon the lands of IIlyriad it boomed,
“Born is the alliance of SM! All you who belong, be proud!”
On the once moss encrusted wall below the creature is now etched the following creed for all members of Alliance SM to dutifully follow under
pain of banishment.
Yea, honoured member of SM, hear and understand thou art a chosen one, so be proud.
You ARE the alliance.
Dedicate your being to the alliance.
Generosity to all other chosen is your motto henceforth. Share your talents, expertise, resources, and strength willingly.
Defend the alliance unto the death.
Be an active participant in all things Alliance and Illyriad.
Grow strong and flourish.
Nurture the inexperienced, for one day they are your future.
Look beyond for kindred spirits who you would be proud to count among your numbers.
Support the Alliance leadership.
