Prologue

Today, the 5th of May 2012, the city council of Dandelion Mountain has granted sainthood to the Monk Jupiter Newton Jones. Henceforth, he will be known as Saint Jupiter. Perhaps a brief biography of Saint Jupiter is in order …
Before he had his Vision, Friar Jupiter Newton Jones wandered in the wilderness to study the flora of Illyria. The noxious plants that pestered farmers and settlers interested him in particular.
Then, while he camped at the edge of a forest in Tor Carrock, he watched a giant metallic discus catch fire as it plummeted and lit up the night. It crashed in nearby mountains and glowed like a beacon. When he reached the crash site the next morning,
he discovered strange beings with grayish green skin, large black eyes, giant heads, etc.,etc. (the now typical lore of beings from other worlds may be inserted here). He tried to save the crash survivors but failed. He carried artifacts and specimens from
the crash site to the nearest town, Kafkazburg.
After the crash of the discus, he either went insane or had been touched by the gods. He claimed that the souls of the space travelers had transmigrated to the seeds of dandelions and several other types of blossoming weeds and that he could commune with
them. Every spring, summer and autumn, he hurried farther and farther southward to chase clouds of seeds that floated through the air so that he could commune with each generation of weeds.
Meanwhile, Kafkazburg transported to the southern shore of Arran and changed its name to Thinky’s Book & Bean. Several years after Jupiter Newton Jones’s vision, a cloud of weed seeds lead the friar to the shore outside Thinky’s Book & Bean, where he sang
the Jolly Doom and Bloom song of the Weed Blossoms.
As he sang, a new vision struck him: he saw space discs of the future built by inhabitants of Illyria. He knew the seeds had found a temporary home on the shores, where the souls of the space travelers would transmigrate from one generation of weeds to
the next. Eventually, they would transmigrate to the souls of Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs who would rebuild space-discs and attempt to return their lost souls to their homes of distant stars. He named the waters The Jolly Doom Sea, as it is known to this
day.
The Lore of Weeds became an integral part of our Lore, the Lore of the Kafkans, and the Lore of the people of Spoudogelos. Although the people of Spoudogelos vanished, the Lore lives on with us Kafkans. The desire to sail the seas of Illyria drives us
like a madness. To sail the seas is the first step toward the long journey back into the stars.
And so, on this 5th day of May of 2012, the city council of Dandelion Mountain has conferred Sainthood upon Friar Jupiter Newton Jones, who named our sea and lit the lodestar that guides us.

Membership
:D: of course is looking for members to join and build port cities along the shores of the sea between Talimar and Arran, known unofficially as The Jolly Doom Sea. If
you look at the map, you will see that there may be many opportunities for Merchant Mariners and Sea Warriors there. Each member will have up to 10 voting shares, 1 share per city, of 1000 shares. If interested send

Landlocked alliances and seafaring alliances that do not have port cities along The Jolly Doom Sea may need trade routes and safe passage across that sea. :D: would like
to offer options to provide this service.
:D: Envoyships:
Envoy accounts from other alliances, such as alt accounts, would join :D: to build port cities along the shores of The Jolly Doom Sea. Each envoy would represent an inland
alliance or a seafaring alliance (one that has no port cities along the Jolly Doom Sea) that needs safe passage.
This would provide an alliance without port cities along The Jolly Doom Sea an outpost and an ally along the sea. It would also provide :D: with an ally.
Envoys would be listed as "Envoy" with the option of also having an alliance ticker.
Envoy accounts that become inactive would be booted and their cities reclaimed.
Other options and positions may be offered in the future. For instance, Ambassadorships may be offered which would give Ambassadors from other alliances a voting share in
major decisions about :D: or a seafarer's training program may be established to guide seafaring players from other alliances. This is, afterall, a work in progress.

For now, a NAP would be just a NAP, but may in the future provide safe passage discounts.
